Melancon Master Series artist #1 - the first of a highly limited run of truly special instruments and originally priced at $10,750 from the dealer. The play feel is unbelievably smooth, the medium C-shaped neck fits perfectly in your hand, and strumming it acoustically produces a loud, dynamic voice that is full of sustain. In mint condition, comes as pictured.
"The Master Artist Series by Gerard Melancon represents the pinnacle of his abilities as a luthier. These guitars are very limited in production because of the time and care taken in their construction. The woods used are from Gerard's private collection and have been hand picked and stored away over many years for use in this series. Each dealer may get 2 of these guitars a year maximum. When you hold one in your hands you will understand why this instrument is so special."
Some comments from Gerard (builder) on the Master Series:
"The carve top is finished. It was more than anticipated due to the number of fixtures that had to be made to build this type of guitar. I burnt the midnight oil for the last two weeks. Everything about the Master Artist guitar is a reflection of the last 10 years of my experience as a luthier. The first Master Artist after the black prototype was the Flamed Redwood over mahogany done in a color I call Black Tiger, the wide flames in this exception piece of redwood reminded me of a tiger. The neck is mahogany with ebony fingerboard with a 12 fret floral inlay. The headstock has matching flamed redwood veneer with mother of pearl, abalone and gold lip pearl in the inlay. I am very pleased and excited to offer the Master Artist guitars as I feel they display my desires as a guitar maker to offer only the highest level of craftsmanship and components. I would like to thank all the Melancon owners, if it were not for you supporting what I do , I could never have pursued building the Master Artist guitar. I hope you are pleased with what I have come up with."
