Unbelievable figuring on this Fano GF6 NAMM showpiece, with a light Vintage Amber finish to ensure that the premium grade Swamp Ash top and body make a bold statement. As always, painstaking attention to detail and selection of tonewoods are the primary reason these amazing instruments feel and sound like a properly worn-in, vintage guitar, with all of the benefits of modern design. Tonally, the custom Fralin pickups blew us away, with a thick midrange and a top-end sparkle reminiscent of that iconic, retro sound. These pups dish out grit and drive when you need it, and easily enter into jazz or blues territory with a slight roll-off of volume and tone; the tonal balance is impressive. In addition, we were blown away by how loud it is when played unplugged! Strum an open chord, and you can feel the resonance and sustain in your entire body.
