Laurent Cavé is a luthier and master craftsman from Marseille, France. These beautiful pieces are hand-built, one at a time, with an element of impeccable, meticulous design that's apparent right from the moment you open the case. Built on a platform that is remarkably different from the plethora of S, T and Les Paul style copies that currently dominate the guitar market, the Thinline is a subtle nod to the Gibson Nighthawk, but in a league of it's own when it comes to tone and playability. That said, we were blown away when we got the instrument in our hands and strummed a few chords. Not only is the neck feel incredibly fast and comfortable, the unstoppable sustain and resonance is what makes it truly stand out. The chambered design gives this guitar a loud and clear voice when played unplugged. All of that tone transfer is brought to life by hand-wound Benedetti humbuckers... from smooth, round clean tones all the way to screaming high-gain.
