1996 Fender Masterbuilt Moto Telecaster JS01 Tobacco Sunburst

This is a Fender Masterbuilt Custom Shop Moto Telecaster. This is famed masterbuilder Jason Smith's FIRST Masterbuilt instrument, that's right, serial JS01. We actually had and sold JS02 which was a Cherry Sunburst Moto Telecaster with a Birdseye Maple neck and it was snatched up quickly. All of the features of this one are the same, except this is serial #1. As with JS02 Jason's Masterbuilt Signature Decal was not ready yet, so this has the custom COA. If you have followed Jason's career as one of Fender's finest Senior Masterbuilders, you can imagine the quality of this specimen. Guitar is 100% original and basically mint, it was purchased from a collector who kept it in his smoke free home.

This telecaster despite its non traditional looks, retains all the vintage tele twang you could want out of a quality telecaster. The neck pickup is vocal and bluesy, an articulate pickup that is easy to dial in to any music genre. The bridge pickup is a real standout with its pronounced woody midrange that can really get into hard rock without problems. The guitar is so versatile that it can easily be used for stage or studio settings and the Moto finish is insanely durable, not to mention gorgeous.
