Behold! This is a 1993 Alan Hamel Masterbuilt Custom Ordered SRV Signature Stratocaster. This left handed model was the first SRV Masterbuilt model built (outside of the original prototypes) and is a super early example of what the masterbuilders at Fender were capable of. The most coveted years for the Fender Custom Shop in my opinion was from 1987-1994 when every piece was built without a schedule, one at a time, just like the vintage originals. Alan Hamel, John English, John Page, Michael Stevens are some of the most respected and sought after Fender builders of our generation.
This guitar is exceptional - the COA states "Custom SRV Stratocaster" which means it was a custom order, and we bought the guitar from the original owner and were able to corroborate his story. This one owner gem is very clean and would be considered in Excellent+ condition. There is very light wear on the guitar and the hardware but overall shines bright and is nearly flawless for being 21 years old.
Don't waste your money on a NEW Masterbuilt guitar for $7740+ when its worth half of that the moment you get it home. Grab a tried and true EARLY Custom model that has appreciated year over year and will continue to do so as these famed masterbuilders are no longer building at Fender.
This guitar sounds every bit like SRV. The pickups are wonderfully calibrated and give you a creamy bluesy neck pickup, perfectly usable middle pickup and the bridge pickup retains all of the midrange it needs to balance out the spectrum. Fender pickups today don't have that signature sparkle like they used to, this guitar has all the chime, clarity and bite you would expect from the talented hands of Alan Hamel. Don't miss this rare opportunity for a highly collectible piece of Fender's long history.
