2006 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul 1956 Historic Reissue Goldtop

An EXCELLENT condition 1956 Les Paul Goldtop. Talk about iconic... the thick neck profile of this R6 is amazingly comfortable to hold, and boasts a special, powerful resonance that cuts right through the mix. This axe absolutely sings! The finish is gorgeous and this guitar absolutely sings with one of the best sounding sets of P90 pickups available on the market. They are full, chimey and clear with a balanced midrange and are instantly recognizable as the emblematic sound of the 50s. These pups do not thin out or get shrill as is the case with a great many soapbar pickup. As far as the rest: huge, deep Mahogany sound enhanced by a the Maple cap that gives the instrument top-end chime and sparkle. Save for a light ding on the back and roughly an inch-long mark on the lower bout, this instrument is in fantastic condition. Vintage original hardware right down to the knobs and pickup selector, comes with a Gibson hardshell case. There is is a major reason the name of this guitar is carved into decades of rock music history!
